As a Florida Master Naturalist and member of the League of Environmental Educators of Florida, one of my greatest joys with the Wild Florida curriculum has been seeing how it's been adapted for use in so many different settings. I didn't set out to write a group-use curriculum, though the format works just as well for learners at home as it does in a more formal setting. My goal was to create a Florida-centered nature study companion so parents, and now educators too, wouldn't have to reinvent the wheel every time they set out to teach a Florida-centered program, cobbling together resources because no single Florida-specific guide existed. I'm glad you're here, exploring how Wild Florida might support you and the dream you're building for your setting. However you decide to use it, I hope it inspires and equips you as you bring a little more of Florida's wild places into your students' lives. About Wild Florida
The Wild Florida curriculum is published as seasonal guides, each containing 13 standalone units with 5 lessons of instruction and activities per unit. Tiered activities allow for use in a multi-age or single-age setting. From homeschoolers to microschools, everyone uses Lesson 1, which introduces that week's theme through our signature narrative read-aloud. From there, each setting adapts the remaining lessons based on the age and focus of their students. Since every unit follows the same five-lesson structure, the easiest way to see how it could work in your setting is to download the provided sample unit and see for yourself.

In addition to the main curriculum, we also provide a Documenting Your Journey guide, which offers inspiration for turning student work into their own living Florida field guide.

Example 1 - Jen teaches a farm school that focuses on animal care, crafts and time outside. She used Wild Florida for ideas and inspiration but does not work directly from the guide for her classes. She would select the Educator's Archive Pass

Example 2 - Samantha organizes a nature class at their coop working directly from the Wild Florida lessons. The only charge for their classes is a supply fee, but class leaders are volunteers and the coop is not making a profit from the classes. They would select a Volunteer Led Group Use Package

Example 3 - John and Crystal run a microschool with a per term enrollment fee and/or class fees. They would select a Commercial Use Group License.
Example 4 - Kim coordinates a group of eight families for nature walks and nature study using the Wild Florida curriculum. They are planning to run the class for 13 weeks and families also want to extend their learning by having access to the curriculum at home. Each family registers their own seasonal Nature Explorer's Club membership and Kim's group is run as a Super Pod under the Nature Pod Project.

Super Pod
Running a small, informal co-op? Skip the license fee entirely. Each family joins the Nature Explorer's Club individually, and your group operates as a Super Pod under the Nature Pod Project.
Group Use Package
Teach directly from Wild Florida with your class, co-op, or program. Annual licenses are available for both volunteer-led co-ops and paid programs, sized to fit your group.
