Our mission is to inspire a love for Florida’s nature and history through exciting and educational adventures in learning. We offer a variety of resources to support Florida-centered learning, including quarterly nature study guides tailored to Florida’s distinct seasons, an upcoming in-depth natural sciences curriculum, and single-subject unit studies that explore specific aspects of nature and history. These are perfect for homeschoolers, co-ops, and forest school educators. Beyond curriculum, we organize workshops and events for families and adult learners, including guided hikes, eco-adventures, and nature journaling classes. Florida Adventure Club also serves as a central hub, connecting eco-education organizations and learners of all ages across Florida.

At Florida Adventure Club, we believe the best way to learn is by getting out there and doing it, but as long-time educators and Florida residents we also know the barriers that can stop that happening. That is why we have written Florida specific curriculum and why we offer hands-on workshops, immersive camps, and eco-tours so you have the support you need to make Florida's natural world and history come alive. Our curriculum is designed to act as your field guide to Florida's great outdoors so you can do nature study in your own backyard, a local park or further afield knowing the information provided works for where you live. Our workshops bring a community aspect as you join with others to learn together and our activities from guided hikes to eco-adventures allow you to go confidently into the great outdoors with knowledgeable guides at amazing locations across the state. Our events cater to lifelong learners, so from homeschool students to retirees there is something for everyone—it's never too late to explore!

Florida Adventure Club is owned and operated by Melody & Brian Becker. Melody is a second-generation Florida native and Florida Master Naturalist who has been involved in alternative education for over 17 years. Brian is a former high school science teacher and avid outdoorsman with a passion for traditional survival skills. They homeschooled four boys, three of whom have graduated college. It was such a great adventure they are now are on round two homeschooling their 5-year-old son. The inspiration for education and adventure goes all the way back to Melody’s grandmother, Eva Smith, who came to South Florida in the 1920s to teach in a one-room schoolhouse. Eva was passionate about adventure travel and made excursions to Egypt and the Amazon. Her example deeply influenced Melody’s younger years, instilling a belief that education should be anything but boring and her stories of teaching multiple ages in a one room schoolhouse formed the foundation for the collaborative learning approach you will experience in our curriculum and events.
