Autumn Sampler 1 – Florida Seasonal Nature Curriculum
Don’t worry if you missed our Autumn Nature Explorer’s Club enrollment—you can still join in the fun. If you’re tired of autumn curriculums about changing leaves, chestnuts, and the first hint of snow, then Wild Florida is for you. We take you outside to get hands-on with Florida’s wild autumn.
Our sampler will introduce you to the sunset creatures that stir as the light fades, their tracks and habits. You’ll turn your eyes skyward to look for the raptors that call Florida their winter home, and discover how rangers use fire to bring new life to our pine wood forests. Through story, art, and hands-on activities, your child will experience autumn—Florida style.
Each unit is drawn from our complete thirteen-week Autumn curriculum and includes tiered lessons for multiple age groups. It’s a great way to test out our curriculum before our Winter Nature Explorer’s Club enrollment opens on November 15th. Whether you’re learning at home, planning a field trip, or adding seasonal context to your week, these lessons are designed to be flexible and easy to use.
Included Units:
1. On Velvet Feet
Explore Florida’s autumn twilight by learning about crepuscular animals—those most active at dawn and dusk. Lessons focus on fox and marsh rabbit behavior, twilight walks, animal silhouettes, reducing nighttime wildlife conflict, expressive art, poetry, and hands-on animal track casting.2. Sky Hunters
